Hale Market Tasting Tour
Detail description
Have you ever tried salted green tomato, apple cheese, or Lithuanian dried sausages with junipers? Do you know that bagels originated in Vilnius? During the tour with a local guide, you will taste traditional Lithuanian food that is still popular and tasty among locals and visitors alike. In addition, you will try various kinds of cheese made by small producers, Lithuanian berry wine, mead, smoked and dried sausages, typical Lithuanian cookies, honey, and whatnot.
The marketplace is housed in a building constructed for this purpose in 1906. Since then, it has always been one of the city’s largest and oldest markets and the best place for locally grown fresh products and home-manufactured goods.
